Takshkeshwer Nath Temple is an ancient and revered Shaiva temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located in Daraganj area of Prayagraj (formerly Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh. The presiding deity is Takshkeshwer Nath, a form of Lord Shiva believed to grant protection and blessings to devotees. The temple holds immense religious significance and is closely associated with the sacred Triveni Sangam — the confluence of the holy rivers Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Saraswati. The temple is believed to be of great antiquity and has been a significant place of worship for devotees for thousands of years. Legend has it that the temple is associated with Takshaka, the king of serpents (Nagas) from Hindu mythology, and Lord Shiva is worshipped here as the protector from serpent-related afflictions. The area of Daraganj where the temple is located is itself considered sacred due to its proximity to the Sangam.
